Sudbury driver clocked at double the speed limit ‘just trying to get to the gym’

Police say driver lost their licence for 30 days and had car impounded; ‘Now they’ll have to do some cardio to get to the gym (and court). Lesson learned? Speeding is not a flex’
So much for that workout.
A Sudbury driver who was clocked at more than double the speed limit yesterday — because they were “just trying to get to the gym” — was slapped with a 30-day licence suspension and had their car impounded for 14 days.
“Now they’ll have to do some cardio to get to the gym (and court),” Sudbury Police wrote in a Wednesday post on X, formerly Twitter. “Lesson learned? Speeding is not a flex.”
The social media post, which includes a photo of the unidentified car and the radar gun reading, says the vehicle was travelling at 103 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
The post does not name the driver.
This driver was caught at 103km/h in a 50km/h zone. Their reason? “I was just trying to get to the gym”. They received a 30-day licence suspension & 14-day vehicle impound. Now they’ll have to do some cardio to get to the gym (and court). Lesson learned? Speeding is not a flex. pic.twitter.com/4rB57nY5gr
