Nearly 600 customers without power in west end, Prince Township

Crews investigating cause of outage that started at around 12:45 p.m.
Nearly 600 customers were without power this afternoon after an unplanned outage hit the Sault’s west end and Prince Township.
The Sault Ste. Marie PUC said the outage hit at around 12:45 p.m.
Line crews were investigating the cause of the interruption in service, which affected about 590 customers, according to a post on the PUC’s website.
The PUC reminded customers:
- Downed wires should always be considered energized or “live”, and extremely dangerous
- Do not approach or drive over a downed power line and do not touch anything the power line may be in contact with
