GALLERY: Saultites pay their respects on Remembrance Day

Wreath laying, musical presentations, and moving speeches were among the highlights during Saturday’s solemn ceremony at the GFL Memorial Gardens

Hundreds gathered inside the GFL Memorial Gardens on a sunny Saturday morning for the 105th national Remembrance Day ceremony.

Emceed by Comrade Padre Phill Miller, the ceremony witnessed dozens of wreaths laid in memory of the countless number of veterans who have fallen.

Several local leaders offered speeches and words of comfort, including Mayor Matthew Shoemaker, LCol. Bob Lambert, and youth narrator Marek McLeod.

Musical presentations were provided by the 49th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA Pipes and Drums, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 Drum and Trumpet Band, and the Drum Group representing the Indigenous Friendship Centre.
